While any of these Pals drop bone, the earliest ones you’ll encounter are Rushoar and Vixy. In my experience, Rushoar is the easier one to find and fight because they will attack you on sight. You will get some of the resource by fighting and catching these Pals, but I’ve found that you get the most resources from killing them outright. Then again, you will almost always get more xp for catching them . So, the route you decide to take is very much up to you.
