The easiest Pals to find in the beginning of the game will be Eikthyrdeer or Caprity. You can capture or kill these Pals to collect the materials. While I have personally noticed more dropping from a kill instead of a capture, it’s just as viable to capture these Pals for both materials and XP.
But, before they are taken out completely, you have to capture them . It is easy to go overboard and accidentally wipe out all of Lunaris’ health, but you have to keep an eye on it and once it gets to a point where you have a good shot of capturing it, you will need to throw a Pal Sphere at them as soon as you can. If possible, use a Hyper Sphere or an Ultra Sphere on Lunaris, as they will give you a better shot at actually capturing them. It is recommended to not even try using a normal Pal Sphere.
